Susie Alldredge

Founder

Susie Alldredge is the founder of the Interdependence Literacy Project. She was formerly the Director of Program Development at the Developmental Studies Center© (now Center for the Collaborative Classroom©), a nonprofit educational organization focusing on fostering children's social, emotional, ethical, and intellectual development in America's public schools. Her work included overseeing the development of the center's in-school and after-school curriculum programs, including conceptualizing, writing, piloting, and revising the programs and preparing them for publication; developing teacher training for the programs; and conducting field testing and teacher training in public school districts across the country. Susie was a lead author of the Making Meaningâ„¢Being a Writerâ„¢, and Caring School Communityâ„¢ programs, and she helped to develop DSC’s mathematics program, Number Powerâ„¢. These programs are in use in public school districts across the country, having touched over 8 million students nationwide. Prior to her work at DSC, she was an elementary classroom teacher in California. Susie received her M.A. in Education from the University of California, Berkeley. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Transformative Studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco, CA.
